Sunday Posting

Yet more pictures of my parents visit, though you see more of the kids then anything else. There are three farm pics and one City Museum pic.

Yesterday we did some shopping. I had Marty drop me off at the farmers market and, though it was nice, the sun started beating down quickly. I got corn, peaches, and green beans. Later in the afternoon Elora helped me at home with the green beans and the corn, until she met a catipillar and decided I should finish. Elora and I shared a peach smoothy and the rest of the food was consumed at dinner. Elora had insisted earlier in the day on making a pumpkin pie, so we had that for dessert. She is my little Betty Crocker. During this time Marty and Eilish were at the Show-Me State Games Gymnastics meet and Eilish got to see some of her gym-mates place.

After the Farmers Market we went to Target and Rowen got a new set of Batman sheets for his big boy bed. We aren't ready for him to move in there yet, but he sure was ready to sleep in it last night.

Before noon, we dropped off stuff at the flea market. It turned out that they had sold their place to new owners so I ended up having to sign a new contract, but the prices are the same. The new owner seemed really excited, so hopefully he will bring in some new excitement and elbow grease. He's about my age and a little nervous about working with all of these new people, but I think it'll all fall into place.

In the evening, we watched the stand up comedy "Bill Cosby as Himself." It's over 20 years old, but it was still funny. Even Eilish laughed at his observation about his kids. This video is the one about chocolate cake for breakfast, the dentist visit, childbirth, and other horror stories about raising kids.

Today I've got to do some grocery shopping. The farmers market saved us yesterday, but I don't think the kids will let me give them mac and cheese and hot dogs. I think I may have spoiled them. Besides, we are out of pie crusts and evaporated milk, two essentials in Elora's pumpkin pie.

Cheers and Good Health,
Christa

Oh, I miss my Grandpa Linfords farm...
I miss the country! The smells (yes the smells), and the animals...

I love your pictures Christa!
I wish I could have a couple of roosters here at my house... but I would need a fence and build a roost pen for them...
I love roosters and those loud guiney's (dont think I spelled that right)...

Sounds like I raised me a country girl after all. You liked that ole "Big Red", we all did. Only rooster I ever saw that thought he was a dog. We actually called him "DOG"

I love the paint horses. Mine I used to have was a White Arabian with glass eyes, she fouled the prettiest Appalucha's (spelled wrong) Her tale drug the ground, mane clear below her neck, I rode her with a black leather and solid silver bridal, saddle and martingale. GOD, was she beautiful. Her name was HONEY, and was she ever. WON FIRST PLACE EVERY TIME IN THE PLEASURE CLASS.

Marlis, She sounds beautiful. It's no wonder horses are an obsession...if you have the space and the dough!

Kandi, Guineas are supposed to eat ticks, that's what grandpa used to say. The are also great guard dogs. When a neighbors dog got into grandpa's RV, the guinea kept coming over to us at the picnic table and making it's guinea noise. We finally figured out what it was trying to tell us.

Oh she knows guineas are guard dogs, we used to have some, OH YEH, we always knew if someone was within a quarter mile. We could not get them in the chicken house finally at night and something finally killed them all. Me I killed the chickens and we ate them. Yum, yum
